An increasing number of high school and college students are struggling to find summer jobs. Seasonally adjusted summer employment rates for U.S. teenagers dropped from 37 percent in 2006 to 25.7 percent last summer, and a new report by Northeastern University’s Center for Labor Market Studies predicts 2012 will be just as dismal unless there is a major public or private jobs initiative.
